Daniel J. Brutti

Dan Brutti is a member of Choate’s Intellectual Property Litigation group. He represents individuals and corporations in complex commercial disputes and patent infringement litigation.

Dan previously served as a law clerk for the Honorable George A. O’Toole, Jr. at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.  Before law school, he worked at a global financial institution and as a high school Latin teacher.

  • Guardant Health, Inc. v. Foundation Medicine, Inc., D. Del.: Counsel for Foundation Medicine in patent infringement litigation relating to next-generation sequencing analysis.
  • Foundation Medicine, Inc., v. Guardant Health, Inc., Fed. Cir.: Counsel for Foundation Medicine in an appeal of PTAB inter partes review decisions involving patents directed to methods for detecting genetic mutations.
  • Reached favorable settlement for best-selling author in state court contract/tort litigation.
  • Trial counsel for global software company in state court trade secret litigation.
