Emily Hodge Appointed to the Boston Bar Association’s 2024-2025 Governing Council

The Boston Bar Association (BBA) has announced that Choate partner Emily Hodge will serve as a member of the governing Council for the 2024-2025 program year. The new Council will commence on September 1, 2024, and will continue to advance the BBA’s mission of promoting “the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, facilitate access to justice, foster a diverse and inclusive professional community, and serve the community at large.”

Emily represents individuals and life sciences companies in government and internal investigations and provides compliance advice to companies that are navigating a challenging and nuanced enforcement environment. Her analytical skills, knowledge of the industry, relationships with government representatives, and leadership make her a valued contributor in complex investigations and a trusted advisor in times of critical decision-making for her clients.

Emily is also committed to public interest work and co-chairs Choate’s collaboration with the Lawyers Clearinghouse, in which the firm conducts legal clinics at local homeless shelters. Early in her career, Emily served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in Suffolk County at the Boston Municipal Court, where she gained considerable criminal trial experience.

The BBA is Massachusetts’ largest legal association, comprised of 15,000 members, 24 sections, over 100 committees, and 140 institutional partners consisting of law firms, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, and law schools. The association is governed by a Council of 34 leaders from the legal profession and guided by the expertise of hundreds of volunteers across dozens of practice areas and industries.
