La Famiglia Joins Forces with General Catalyst

Choate is proud to have provided US counsel to La Famiglia, a seed-stage venture capital firm based in Berlin, in its combination with General Catalyst, a Cambridge, MA and Silicon Valley based venture capital firm. This combination will create one of Europe’s leading venture capital platforms, with a focus on early-stage investments. La Famiglia will receive additional financial and platform resources to invest in and support promising European founders, while General Catalyst will further enhance its European strategy of incubating cutting-edge companies with industry experts.

Jeannette zu Fürstenberg, founding partner of La Famiglia, and others will become managing directors at General Catalyst, and the La Famiglia team will remain in Germany and retain the La Famiglia brand, making General Catalyst the first major US VC to have a significant footprint in continental Europe.
